Author Guidelines

GUBERNARE: Journal of Law and Local Governance welcomes original manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by other journals. Submissions must align with the journal’s focus on critical and interdisciplinary scholarship that examines the relationship between law, public policy, and local governance in diverse political, social, and institutional contexts.

Manuscripts may take the form of original research articles, conceptual or theoretical papers, or critical analyses. All submissions should be written in clear academic English and follow the journal’s formatting and citation requirements as specified in the journal template. Authors are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of references, proper citation of sources, and consistency in style and structure.

Submissions must be made through the journal’s online submission system. To support the double-blind peer-review process, authors are required to remove all identifying information from the main manuscript file. A separate title page containing author details and affiliations should be submitted as supplementary material.

Authors whose research involves Indigenous peoples or customary communities are expected to adhere to ethical research standards, including respect for Indigenous knowledge systems, cultural values, and community consent where applicable. The journal discourages extractive research practices and encourages reflexive, community-sensitive scholarship.

All manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening followed by a double-blind peer-review process. Authors may be requested to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewer feedback. Final publication decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief based on scholarly merit and relevance to the journal’s scope.
